The central hallway summons visitors into the main house via a row of Philippe Starck pendant lights. A sympathetic & stylish blend of new and old is the hallmark of this project As yet unfurnished, the formal dining room with new open fireplace/ limestone surround and in-ceiling speaker system links the adjoining sitting room via a new opening & French door between the two classically proportioned rooms Cool tones of blues and turquoise were selected by the client for the living room; wall-hung landscape gas fire replaces a former open fireplace The chandelier and original art lend a modern twist to a classic Edwardian room One end of open-plan kitchen/dining room with recessed gas fire and TV above (protected by a heat-deflecting cantilevered limestone mantle shelf) Open-plan playroom area is separated from kitchen area by bespoke low-iron glass screens Practical and good-looking, Amtico flooring links the entire floor area Deatil of recessed cube storage shelving in playroom Subtly patterned metallic wallpaper adds texture and a touch of glamour to the cloakroom A dramatic yet very classic sweep to the main staircase Contemporary wall-mounted steel radiators echo the textures of the twisted glass chandeliers, while the teak mirror reflects and multiplies the lights, adding richness and drama to a controlled warm neutral colour palette Guest bedroom with feature wallcovering and concealed lighting in recess Detail of main bedroom showing pale paint treatment on the original pine floorboards Detail of Vescom's fabulous wall covering with Swaroski crystals - a little goes a long way so this need not break the bank Master bedroom fitted with stylish Alno furniture
