How We Work

Anna Kalnars at Infinite Design Devon offers exciting and innovative design if you are looking for an interior designer in the South Hams area. Although we particularly enjoy designing projects in the Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth and Totnes area, our geographical knowledge is extensive and we will be very pleased to talk to you about your design projects elsewhere in the UK, including Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol and London.

Contemplating building work, no matter what the scale, can be quite daunting. At Infinite Design Devon we understand the most common concerns for clients concern practical matters such as costs, planning approvals and building regulations, finding reliable builders, and making sure the work is completed on time and on budget. So, as well as listening carefully to what you need and offering very creative design solutions, we are here to guide and help you manage the building process. We work with other construction professionals including architects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors and excellent builders, giving you a complete design service from the initial concept design to final completed project.

Anna is a Member of the British Institute of Interior Design, the leading professional organisation in the UK for interior designers. Members meet rigorous entry requirements and follow a professional Code of Conduct, in addition to holding current full Professional Indemnity and 3rd Party Liability insurance. Details are available on the BIID website, and full insurance details are available on request.

We aim for transparency and clear engagement with our clients, and an honest, happy working collaboration throughout the project. We are clear about our fees from the outset, so that you always know how we charge. One of the challenges with most building projects is that the circumstances often alter, which can impact on the budget and timescale. If you decide to involve us in your project for the construction phase, we look after your interests by ensuring there is a clear paper-trail with schedules of work, drawings and instructions, and that changes are notified to you and agreed prior to further work.

We will always have a written and signed agreement for interior design services. If the project is very small, all the details can be contained in a Letter of Appointment. Otherwise, we use the BIID/RIBA Concise Agreement for Interior Design Services (CID/11), which includes Letter of Appointment, written schedules of agreed services, terms & conditions, project data and our fees & expenses.

Fees

If you need an interior designer in the Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth area, Anna offers an initial meeting free of charge, so that you meet her and discuss your requirements in a friendly and relaxed manner. This first meeting is entirely without obligation, and gives you the opportunity to explore your requirements and fresh design approaches, and find out about the design process and our fee structure.

The calculation of our fees is subject to agreement, and is based on one, or a combination, of the following:
  • lump sum(s)
  • time charged on an hourly/daily rate
  • percentage(s) applied to the project cost
Please note that at the present time, Infinite Design Devon acts in a professional capacity and not as suppliers or retailers of furnishings, fittings or equipment. This means that we will advise and help source any requirements and leave the purchasing either to you, or via the main Contractor.
