The Monastery grade-2 listed Chapel is  sensitively and imaginatively transformed into a private pool and spa Glass staircase designed by Anna Kalnars and constructed by Benbow International Contemporary steel and glass staircase takes its place as a modern intervention within the original structure of stone walls and brickwork arches, allowing light to permeate to all areas New gym in glazed room behind staircase Peace on the treadmill Glass staircase leads up to level deck swimming pool and viewing terrace Reverse view of pool: humidity controlled by air-handling system & plant room at ground floor level; all timberwork is original or matched to the original by skilled joiners on site and protected by a Sikkens low-build stain Air-conditioned gym behind glass walls adjacent to pool Entry into level-deck swimming pool, lined with glass mosaic tiles by Bisazza, at first floor level of Chapel Interior of sauna Pool lit by a combination of natural light from the arched and clerestory windows andsympathetic and atmospheric lighting scheme designed by Anna Kalnars original structural brick plinths and wooden pillars have been preserved; hand-rails, non-slip edging and tiled flooring, and subtle lighting are a safety feature and play a part in the harmonious design original 19th century wooden painted ceiling preserved Every detail counts - here the stainless steel drainage grid and contrasting risers on the steps provide crisp visual punctuation to the floor tiles and glass pool mosaics
